O Galardoado Greg Fitzpatrick,é um ator/duplo que participou em diversos filmes e séries televisivas como: Homem de Ferro II,Noite no Museu,Alpha Dog e 24.


SWCP: Fez toda a captura de combates e duplos do robot “Atom”com o Hugh Jackman no filme `Reel Steel´.Pode falar-nos um pouco sobre o seu trabalho nesse filme?

G.F: Sim, fiz todas as lutas dele, tanto no ringue como nos outros locais onde ele lutou. Nós coreografámos e filmámos as lutas primeiro num movimento de captação no estúdio em Los Angeles, e depois filmámos o resto do filme em Michigan. Lá, recriei as lutas dos atores para reagirem enquanto faziam o seu diálogo. Outros lutadores e eu usamos pernas de pau para parecermos tão grandes como os robôs que retratávamos.

SWCP: Tem sido o duplo do Bem Stiller em vários filmes como Little Fockers,Tropic Thunder e Noite no Museu. Criou-se uma certa empatia e amizade entre os dois?

G.F: Sim, o Ben e eu somos bons amigos. Ele é um tipo muito simpático e muito talentoso. Ele também sabe exatamente qual é a ação mais apropriada para cada cena. Confio nele muito para ajudar-me no meu trabalho. Temos uma grande relação de trabalho e ele de fato faz a maior parte das suas próprias cenas de ação nos filmes.

SWCP: Foi um “Leão-marinho “em Hearthbreak Kid. Foi um trabalho difícil de executar?

G.F: A parte do leão-marinho no filme foi cansativa, mas divertida. Tive de nadar debaixo de água com a cabeça de leão-marinho enquanto eles filmavam. Tive de suster a minha respiração. Ha!ha!

SWCP: Fale-nos do seu papel de duplo do Robert Downey em `Homem de Ferro´.

G.F: Dobrar o Robert em Homem de Ferro I e II foi muito divertido. O Robert é um tipo muito talentoso e simpático. Foi um prazer trabalhar com ele. Fizemos muitos voos em arames e batalhas com armas e explosões no deserto. O diretor John Favreau, fez um grande trabalho de realização e também foi muito divertido trabalhar com ele.

SWCP: Foi também o duplo do ator Joaquim de Almeida na série `24´.O que pensa acerca deste ator que é atualmente o mais consagrado ator português a nível internacional?

G.F: Foi um prazer dobrar um ator tão perfeito, embora eu não o tenha visto mais desde a série '24'.Estou muito feliz por ele estar no bom caminho da sua carreira e espero dobra-lo novamente um dia.

SWCP: Que mensagem quer enviar aos seus fãs?

G.F: Adoro o meu emprego e sinto-me muito feliz por ter notícias de gente que viu o meu trabalho e que gosta dele.

The Taurus winning prize´s Greg Fitzpatrick is an actor and a stuntman who participated in several films and television series: Iron Man, Night at the Museum, Alpha Dog, 24, among others.

SWCP: You did the whole capture of combats and stunts of the robot "Atom “with Hugh Jackman on `Real Steel ´.Could you tell us a bit more about your work on this movie?

G.F: Yes, I did all of Adam's fighting both in the ring and in the other venue's in which Adam fights. We choreographed and filmed the fights first in a motion capture studio in Los Angeles, and then shot the rest of the movie in Michigan. There, I recreated the fights for the actors to react to while doing their dialogue. The other fighters and I wore stilts in order to appear as large as the robots we were portraying.

SWCP: You have been Ben Stiller´s double in several films such as Little Fockers, Tropic Thunder and Night at the Museum. Was a certain empathy and friendship created between both of you?

G.F: Yes, Ben and I are good friends. He's a very nice and very talented guy. He also knows exactly what action is appropriate for each scene. I rely on him a lot for input into my work. We have a great working relationship and he actually does a lot of his own stunts for the films.

SWCP: "You were a sealion"on `Heartbreak Kid’. It was a difficult work to do?

G.F: The sea lion part of the film was tiring, but fun. I had to swim under water with the sea lion head on while they were filming. It required a lot of holding my breath. Ha ha!

SWCP: Tell us about your Robert Downey´s double work in Iron Man.

G.F: Doubling Robert on Iron Man I & part of II was a lot of fun. Robert is a very talented and nice guy as well. It was a pleasure working with him. We did a lot of flying around on wires and gun battles and explosions in the desert. The director John Favreau did a great job with the directing and is a lot of fun to work with.

SWCP: You were also the double of the actor Joaquim de Almeida in the series `24´.What do you think about this actor who is at the present, the most established Portuguese actor at international level?

G.F: It was a pleasure doubling such a fine actor, though I haven't seen him since "24". I'm very happy he's doing well in his career and hopes to stunt double him again one day.

SWCP: What message would you like to leave for your fans?

G.F: I love my job and I feel very lucky to hear from people who have seen my work and enjoy it.
