Yayan Ruhian é um ator/duplo e instrutor de artes marciais Indonésio que tem participado em filmes como: The Raid-A Redenção,Beyhond Skyline,entre outros.Em Star Wars: O Despertar da Força,Ruhian interpretou o papel do Tasu Leech,o líder do gangue Kanjiklub.

SWCP: Como surgiu o convite para trabalhar em Star Wars VII?

Y.R: O convite para trabalhar no projeto Star Wars surgiu da minha relação com a PT Merantau Films que produziu Merantau e The Raid. Então a oferta veio do Gareth Evans através da Merantau Films. 

SWCP: Podemos dizer que o seu personagem ( Tasu Leech)é uma versão humana do Jabba the Hutt?

Y.R: Alguém me disse que há similaridade entre o meu personagem e o Jabba the Hut. Se o meu personagem é inspirado pelo Jabba the Hut, acho que a resposta esteve na mão do realizador e dos roteiristas.

SWCP: Também trabalhou como coreógrafo/instrutor de lutas neste filme?

Y.R: Só tivemos uma pequena contribuição na coreografia, apenas quando nos pediam alguma opinião.

SWCP: Aos 13 anos de idade, começou a treinar a tradicional arte marcial Pencak Silat.Acha que esta aprendizagem foi o grande impulso pela sua profissionalização em artes marciais?

Y.R: Acredito que sim.

SWCP: Em 2008,foi convidado pelo realizador Gareth Evans a ajudar nas coreografias de luta para o filme Merantau.Foi o primeiro filme em que trabalhou?

Y.R: Sim, foi o meu primeiro filme.

SWCP: Que mensagem quer enviar aos fãs de Star Wars?

Y.R: Que a Força esteja convosco…

Yayan Ruhian is an Indonesian actor/Stuntman and martial arts instructor who has participated in such films as: The Raid-the Redemption, Beyhond Skyline, among others. In Star Wars:The Force Awakens, Ruhian played the role of Tasu Leech, the leader of the  Kanjiklub gang.

SWCP: How did the invitation to work in Star Wars VII? 

Y.R: The invitation to work in Star Wars project came from my relation with PT Merantau Films which produced Merantau and The Raid. So the offer came through PT Merantau Film / Gareth Evans.

SWCP: Can we say that your character (Tasu Leech) is a human version of Jabba the Hutt?

Y.R: Someone had told me there are similarity between my character and Jabba the Hut. Whether my character is inspired by Jabba the Hut, I think the answer was in the hand of director and the scriptwriters.

SWCP: Did you also worked as a choreographer/instructor of fights in this film?

Y.R: We only have small contribution in choreography, only when asked for opinion.

SWCP: At 13 years of age, you began training the traditional martial art of Pencak Silat.Do you think this learning was the major boost for your professionalism in martial arts?

Y.R: Yes, I believe that.

SWCP: In 2008, you were invited by Director Gareth Evans to help in fight choreography for the film Merantau. Was the first movie you worked on?

Y.R: Yes, it was the first movie.

SWCP: What message would you want to send for Star Wars fans?

Y.R: May the force be with you…
