Entrevistas SWCP: François Chau

François Chau é um ator americano de origem vietnamita/chinesa que participou em diversos filmes e séries televisivas como:
Lost,The Expanse,Tartarugas Ninja II,Stargate SG-1.entre outros.

SWCP: Ao longo da sua brilhante carreira,tem trabalhado em diversas séries de ficção científica.É fã desta temática?

F.C: Sou um grande fã de ficção científica!O meu tema favorito é o Star Trek original, mas eu adoro todos os filmes de ficção científica e fantasia.

SWCP: Já agora,é fã de Star Wars?Se sim,tem algum personagem favorito?

F.C:  Também gosto de Star Wars. Não tenho uma personagem favorita, mas se eu tivesse que escolher, provavelmente seria o Obi-Wan Kenobi.

SWCP: Sabe-nos dizer porque foi cancelada a série televisiva `The Expanse´ da qual fazia o papel do Jules Pierre Mao?É que pelo menos em Portugal estava a ter muitos seguidores.

F.C:  Bem, a boa notícia é que, quando você escreveu isso, de facto a série estava cancelada, mas agora foi adquirida pela Amazon. Acho que na altura,foi cancelada porque era muito dispendiosa para fazer.

SWCP: Caso esta série volte a ser produzida,gostaria de voltar a trabalhar nela?

F.C: Agora que vai ser novamente produzida, sim é claro eu gostaria de fazer mais episódios, mas a história do meu personagem está muito perto de chegar ao fim.

SWCP: No filme Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II,interpretou o papel do Shredder.Como se sentiu "na pele de vilão"?É um tipo de papel mais desafiante em termos de performance?

F.C: Gostei muito de interpretar o "Shredder".Já encarnei um monte de vilões na minha carreira, e todos eles foram muito desafiantes.

SWCP:Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos seus fãs?

F.C: Tenho muita sorte por ter fãs tão grandes em todo o mundo! Estou feliz que vocês apreciem as diferentes personagens que já interpretei. Espero que possa continuar a viver das vossas expectativas. Obrigado! Estou muito orgulhoso de uma nova série da qual eu faço parte,que se chama `The Tick´, produzida pela Amazon. Espero que tenham a oportunidade de a verem e de gostarem dela.

SWCP: Throughout your  brilliant career, you have been working in several science fiction series. Are you a fan of this theme?

F.C:  I am a very big fan of science fiction! My favorite is the original Star Trek, but I love all science fiction and fantasy.

SWCP: By the way, you're a Star Wars fan? Do you have a favorite character?

F.C:  I do like Star Wars. I don't really have a favorite character, but if I had to choose, it would probably be Obi-Wan Kenobi

SWCP: Could you tell us why it was canceled the Television series ' The Expanse ´ which did you played the role of Jules Pierre Mao? Is that at least in Portugal, was having many followers.

F.C: Well the good news is that when you wrote this, it was cancelled, but now it has been picked up by Amazon. I think it was cancelled because it was very expensive to make.

SWCP:  If this series will be return, would you like to work on it again?

F.C:  Now that it has been picked up, yes of course I would like to do more episodes, but my character's story has pretty much come to an end.

SWCP: In the movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II,you played the role of Shredder. How do you felt "on the skin of villain"? Is it a type of role more challenging in terms of performance?

F.C: I very much enjoyed playing "Shredder". I have played a lot of villains in my career, and they were all challenging.

SWCP: Would you like to send a message for your fans?

F.C: I am very lucky to have such great fans all over the world! I'm glad you enjoy the different parts I've played. I hope I can keep living up to your expectations. Thank you!
