Entrevista SWCP: Billy Dee Williams

SWCP: Participou no filme “Fanboys”.

The American actor Billy Dee Williams needs no presentations for the fans of Star Wars, since he was Lando Calrissian in the classic trilogy. But we can still watch other actings of this actor in: Hit, Fanboys, Night Hawks, Fear City, among many others.

SWCP: For the most attentive audience, there is the sensation that there was a certain empathy among all the actors of Star Wars. Is it true?
B.D.W: Yes, we all got along very well and felt for one another. We really all enjoyed working with each other.

SWCP: You participated in “Fanboys”. Although not having the role of a Star Wars character in this movie, do you think that even so it was a sort of "come back" to Star Wars from another point of view?
B.D.W: Yes, that is why I did the project, because it related to STAR WARS and the characters. It was a way to relive the film we did 30 years ago.

SWCP: Can we say that you are a multifaceted artist, since besides actor, you are also a Jazz musician and painter?
B.D.W: I am not a Jazz musician, but yes I would consider myself multifaceted. I was a painter before I was an actor. I went to school for art on a scholarship.  I won awards for my art, I even have a piece hanging in the Smithsonian Institute!

SWCP: Which type of art do you paint?
B.D.W: I consider my art to be abstract reality, as things are as real as they are abstract in real life.

SWCP: You were considered a sex symbol in the 80s.What do you think about that?
B.D.W: Love it!

SWCP: Would you like to leave a message for the portuguese fans of Star Wars?
B.D.W: I am pleased to know I have so many fans over there and I appreciate their support over the years!

SWCP: We want we want still to thank for Mr Derek Maki the responsible for http://www.coolwatersprods.com since he was the link of connection between us and Billy.
