Entrevista SWCP: Michelle Tomlinson

A actriz Michelle Tomlinson é uma especialista em interpretar filmes de terror e thrillers, tendo inclusive ganho alguns prémios em festivais de cinema da especialidade. The Cellar Door, Alien Vengeance, Brain Dead, entre outros, são alguns dos filmes em que participou. 

SWCP: Porque enveredou especialmente por papéis em filmes de terror? 

M.T: Eles são tão divertidos! Apaixonei-me pelo género do horror e estou a divertir-me imenso com ele. Estive noutro tipo de coisas também, alguns dramas Indie e séries online - mas por alguma razão, é o horror que me capta a atenção. 

SWCP: Venceu o prémio “Pretty /Scary” pela sua interpretação no filme “The Cellar Door”. Pode falar-nos um pouco acerca da sua personagem nesse filme? 

M.T: A Rudy foi um personagem realmente impressionante para se trabalhar. Ela foi forte, assustada, vulnerável e resistente. Ela teve momentos onde estava aterrorizada e momentos onde enfrentava o seu captor e acabou por lhe bater “forte e feio”. 

SWCP: Também trabalhou na produção de vídeos. É uma área em que está a pensar em se especializar futuramente e produzir os seus próprios filmes?  

M.T: Fiz bastantes trabalhos em produção de vídeo no liceu. Aquela paixão nunca me abandonou e, como tal, tenho vindo a produzir curtas-metragens durante os últimos dois anos. Avançar para o mundo da produção de filmes de autor será o passo seguinte.

SWCP: Segundo o realizador/produtor Matt Zettell “a Michelle é tudo o que um realizador quer numa actriz: inteligente, sexy e destemida!” Concorda com esta afirmação?  
M.T: Adoro o Matt Zettel:) É difícil ver-me dessa forma já que sou a pessoa que conhece o meu próprio corpo e a minha mente, assim como todas as minhas fraquezas. Mas sou abençoada se essa é a sua visão.

SWCP: Já teve alguma situação mais complicada a nível físico nas rodagens de um filme? 
M.T: O The Cellar Door foi desafiante por causa do espaço muito pequeno dentro da jaula. Muito pouco espaço para as pernas. (LOL) O Brain Dead foi rodado sob um calor que bateu recordes na Floresta de Angeles, só por isso já foi um desafio. Backfire foi uma rodagem louca - não só fiz uma divertida cena de luta, como também quase fui atingida por um disparo da polícia de L.A.

SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos seus fãs?
M.T: Obrigado por serem tão fantásticos! O terror Indie precisa de todo o apoio possível. Somos todos muito afortunados por fazermos parte de um género de filmes tão impressionante.

The actress Michelle Tomlinson is a specialist in interpreting horror and thriller movies, having inclusive won several awards in cinema festivals of this kind. The Cellar Door, Alien Vengeance, Brain Dead, among others, are some of the movies in which she participated. 


SWCP: Why do you play specially thriller/horror movies? 
M.T: They are so much fun! I fell into the Horror Genre and am having a blast with it. I've been in other things too, a few Indie Dramas and Web Series--but it's the Horror that gets the attention for some reason.

SWCP: You won the award “Pretty/Scary” for your interpretation in the movie “The Cellar Door”. Could you tell us a bit more about your character in this movie? 
M.T: Rudy was a really awesome character to work on. She was strong, scared, vulnerable and tough. She had moments where she was terrified and moments where she flipped the plate on her captor and wound up kicking his ass.

SWCP: You also worked in video productions. Is it an area in which you are thinking about specializing for producing your own movies? 
M.T: I dabbled a lot in Video Productions in High School. That passion has never left me, as I am and have been producing short material for the last couple years. Moving into the world of producing Feature Films is next on the skillet.

SWCP: According to the director/producer Matt Zettel "Michelle is everything that a director wants out of an actress: smart, sexy and fearless!" Do you agree with this testimony? 
M.T: I love Matt Zettel :) It's hard to see myself that way since I'm the one inside my own body and psyche and know all of my flaws. But I am blessed that's his view.

SWCP: Did you already have any situation more complicated at a physical level in the shots? 
M.T: The Cellar Door was challenging because of the tiny space of the cage. Very little leg room. LOL Brain Dead was shot in record level heat in the Angeles Forest, so that was a challenge unto itself. Backfire was a crazy shoot--not only did I have a fun fight scene, but I also almost got shot by the LAPD.

SWCP: Would you like to leave a message for your fans? 
M.T: Thank you for being amazing! Indie Horror needs all the support it can get. We are all very fortunate to be in such a killer genre.
