SWCP: Foi nomeado (?) para um Emmy nos documentários da LFL: Empire of Dreams - The Making of the SW Trilogy, Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed e Indiana Jones: The Ultimate Quest.
SWCP: Que papel teve no vídeo jogo Star Wars:The Old Republic?
Eu estive ocupado no estúdio a trabalhar no capítulo seguinte da saga StarCraft:Heart of the Swarm. Tenho o Hiperíon totalmente atestado e pronto. Raiders Roll!
- English Version -
Robert Clotworthy has appeared in over one hundred feature film and television programs and has worked with aclaimed directors and actors. As a voice actor, he has amassed well over one thousand credits in commercial spots and documentaries.
SWCP: You were nominated (?) for an Emmy in the documentaries of LFL: Empire of Dreams - The Making of the SW Trilogy, Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed and Indiana Jones: The Ultimate Quest. How it was this experience?
R.C: A little clarification first. I was not personally nominated for an Emmy, the documentary was nominated and as the narrator I was certainly involved in the making of the documentary. I found the experience to be very challenging and fulfilling. I grew up with Star Wars and to be entrusted by George Lucas to be the voice of the program was certainly an honor. I found The Legacy Revealed to be my personal favorite as it dealt with the mythology of the story. Also narrating the documentaries opened up a lot of doors for me, specifically those same producers also produce Ancient Aliens, a documentary series that is currently in it's fourth season.
SWCP: Being also the voice of animated series and video games characters, which known differences between this work and narration?
R.C: My approach to narration is to A) tell the story and B) allow my own curiosity and opinion to show through.
As a narrator you are generally an observer of what is happening. When you are a character you are part of the story. It's important to understand what function that character serves in the story and then start applying
your own life experience to add layers and nuance to the character. It is challenging and fun. It certainly beats digging a ditch in the hot sun.
SWCP: Did you already participate in any kind of commercial that was wrapping the theme ´Star Wars´?
R.C: No.
SWCP: How do you felt knowing that your character of Starcraft (Jim Raynor) was painted on a Boeing 747, as part of the promotional campaign for the game?
R.C: It was a thrill to see Jim Raynor on the side of a 747. That was certainly an experience that few if any other person has had. It is a testament to the popularity of StarCraft and of the character of Raynor. I only wish I could have seen him on the side of the space shuttle.
SWCP: Which role did you have in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic?
R.C: I played several characters in SWTOP. The most notable are Chancellor Janarus and Senator Evran.
SWCP: Would you like to leave a message for the fans?
R.C: I would like to thank all the fans of StarCraft and STWTOP. It is an honor to be part of such epic games. I have been busy in the studio working on the next chapter in the StarCraft saga, Heart of the Swarm. The story takes some interesting twists and turns and I'm certain the fans will not be disappointed. I enjoy meeting and speaking with the fans and encourage them to let their local game event organizers know if they would like me to attend. I have the Hyperion fully fueled and ready. Raiders Roll!
