O ator James Horan tem participado em diversos filmes e séries como: Vampire Resurrection,The Lost,Visitatium,Flags of our fathers,Star Trek,entre outros. É também um ator de voz, com trabalhos na animação,comerciais,promoções e videojogos.


SWCP: Fale-nos um pouco sobre os personagens que interpretou no videojogo: Star Wars:Kinights of Old Republic II-The Sith Lords.

J.H: Wow! Não me consigo lembrar dos personagens que fiz para os jogos de Star Wars. Fui à imdb e estudei os meus papéis, mas foi há tanto tempo que, honestamente não me recordo!

SWCP: Curiosamente, conheceu a sua esposa numa convenção de Star Trek em Itália no ano de 2004.Acha que as convenções são um elo de ligação entre os fãs e os atores?

J.H: Realmente de facto conheci a minha esposa numa convenção de Star Trek em Itália. Ela foi a minha tradutora enquanto estive lá, e fiquei bastante afeiçoado a ela durante os quatro dias da convenção. Decidimos continuar a ver-nos apesar da distância, e uma coisa levou a outra... Estamos felizmente casados há cerca de sete anos e meio, e temos um maravilhoso filho de seis anos de idade. Penso que as convenções em geral são uma grande oportunidade para os atores que trabalharam nas séries, encontrarem os fãs dessas mesmas séries; sempre achei que os fãs de Star Trek e Highlander (as séries em que fui ator convidado) estão muito bem informados tendo conhecimentos de muitas coisas, e são pessoas muito respeitosas e agradáveis.

SWCP: O que faz para preparar as vozes dos seus personagens?

J.H: Quanto à minha preparação para criar vozes para os personagens que faço, confio muito na minha intuição sobre os personagens. As minhas primeiras impressões sobre como eles soam, são normalmente corretas. Muitas vezes, o diretor dos castings ou o diretor de cabine de voz ajudam a formar o som, como o 'Wheel Jack', o meu personagem Autobot na série animada TRANSFORMERS Prime. Quando comecei a fazer a série, o diretor aproveitou o meu som básico e acrescentou-lhe mais ostentação e machismo até que termos a voz final. É muito divertido fazer atuação de voz tudo que você tem é a sua voz para transmitir o sentido de quem você está a retratar - você não pode usar os gestos ou a postura como no teatro, tv, ou filmes.

SWCP: Em que projetos está atualmente a trabalhar?

J.H: O 'Wheeljack' será apresentado em quase todos os episódios da terceira temporada de Transformers Prime na Hub Network e que estou ansioso para a ver. Penso que começará em fevereiro ou Março de 2013.

Também continuo a fazer jogos de vídeo - terminei recentemente o meu trabalho em DIABLO III, onde interpretei um par de personagens; Também participei em BATMAN, ARKHAM CITY, DAWN OF WAR II, e FALLOUT, NEW VEGAS, para nomear só alguns títulos mais adiantados.

www.jameshoran.com ; Fui o George Washington num spot da Time-Warner, e mais recentemente interpretei o Thomas Jefferson, outro Pai da Fundação dos Estados Unidos,num comercial da Coca-Cola, que deverá estar no ar nos finais de Fevereiro. Não há muito a relatar na componente teatral mas ainda não desisti dessa área da minha carreira!

SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos seus fãs?

J.H: Eu gostaria de desejar a todos os meus fãs, amor e luz nesta época natalícia (esta entrevista foi efetuada em Dezembro); e os melhores desejos para um pacífico e próspero 2013! Obrigado pelo vosso apoio contínuo!

English Version:   The actor James Horan has appeared in several films and series, including: Vampire Resurrection, the Lost, Visitation, Flags of our Fathers, Star Trek, among others. He is also a voice over were has provided voices for many commercials, promos, animation and video games.

SWCP: Please, tell us a little more about the characters that you played in the Star Wars video games.

J.H: Wow--I can't even remember the characters I did for the Star Wars games. I went to imdb and looked up the roles, but it's been so long, I honestly don't recall!

SWCP: Curiously, you met your wife in a convention of Star Trek. Do you think these kinds of conventions serve also to interconnect the fans to the actors?

J.H: I did indeed meet my wife at a Star Trek convention in Italy. She was my translator while I was there, and I became quite smitten with her over the four days of the con. We decided to keep seeing each other, despite the distance, and one thing led to another...we've now been happily married for seven and a half years, and have a wonderful six year old son. I think conventions in general are a great way for actors who worked on the shows to meet the fans of those shows; I always found Trek and Highlander (the series, on which I guest-starred) fans to be very knowledgeable of many things, and very respectful, pleasant folks as well.

SWCP: What do you do to prepare the voices of your characters?

J.H: As for my preparation to create voices for the characters I do, I rely greatly on my intuition about that character. My first impressions as to how the guy sounds are usually correct, I've found. Often, the casting director or voice booth director will help shape the sound, as with "Wheel jack", my Autobot character in the animated series TRANSFORMERS PRIME. When I first started doing the show, the director took my basic sound and gave it a bit more swagger and machismo until we found the voice. It's great fun to do voice acting-all you have is your voice to convey the sense of who these people you're portraying are--you can't rely on gestures or posture as you can in theatre, tv, or film.

SWCP: Do you have any current project in development?

J.H: "Wheel Jack" will be featured in almost every episode of the upcoming third season of TRANSFORMERS PRIME on the HUB network, which I'm looking forward to seeing. I think it starts in Feb. or March of 2013. I also continue to do video games--just finished work on DIABLO III, doing a couple of characters; I also was in BATMAN, ARKHAM CITY, DAWN OF WAR II, and FALLOUT, NEW VEGAS, to name a few earlier titles.

late February. Not much to report of late on the theatrical front--but I haven't given up that part of my career yet!
