Entrevistas SWCP: Catherine Taber

A atriz Catherine Taber estreou-se na 7ª arte no drama `The Girl´s Room´.Sendo também uma atriz vocal, Catherine é a voz da Padmé Amidala na série Star Wars:Clone Wars (CGI).


SWCP: Fale-nos um pouco acerca dos personagens que deu a sua voz na série Clone Wars.

C.T: Bem, o meu personagem primário é a Senadora Padmé Amidala. Interpretei também outros grandes personagens, inclusive Numa, o jovem Twilek em `O Arco de Ryloth´, Karis a Nightsister, o Anjo de Iego, e mais recentemente um doce droid, BNI 393, alcunhado "Coelho".

SWCP: Tentou incutir um timbre de voz o mais parecido com o da Natalie Portman para o papel da Padmé?

C.T: Quando fiz o casting para esse papel, o Dave Filoni, o nosso diretor disse-me que eu interpretaria a minha própria Padmé e não teria de falar igual a ninguém, por isso não tentei imitar a voz da senhora Portman, eu simplesmente tentei ser o mais verdadeira possível ao personagem da Padmé. Mas diria que ela e eu temos naturalmente um tom vocal semelhante, e como tal, resultou muito bem também nesse aspeto!

SWCP: Foi também a voz de alguns personagens em vídeo jogos. Que diferenças nota mais no modo de trabalhar entre a animação e esta área?

C.T: Adoro os jogos e interpretei alguns personagens de que gosto muito:Mission dos Knights of the Old Republic e Vette in The Old Republic (muitos Twileks!) bem como a Princesa Leia em The Force Unleashed 1 e 2. Trabalhando em Clone Wars gravámos como um elenco o que é muito divertido! Portanto os jogos de vídeo são um pouco "mais solitários" mas as linhas das histórias são tão profundas e assombrosas que seria impossível fazer tudo isso com os seus companheiros do elenco.

SWCP: Voltando ao personagem Padmé Amidala, quais são os seus principais atributos?

C.T: A Padmé tem como atributos a integridade e defender o bem contra a maldade. Ela é valente, forte e também, e isto fá-la diferente de muitos outros personagens de Star Wars, ela é sempre uma esperançosa otimista.

SWCP: Que mensagem quer enviar aos seus fãs?

C.T: Eu gostaria de dizer obrigado, obrigado, obrigado! Pelo vosso apoio e por compartilharem o amor que também tenho por Star Wars! E claro, que a Força esteja convosco sempre!

English Version:   The actress Catherine Taber made her feature film début starring in the drama `The Girl´s Room’. Being is also a voice actress; Catherine portrayed the role of Padme Amidala in the Clone Wars series (CGI).



SWCP: Tell us a bit more about the characters that you played in Star Wars: Clone Wars.

C.T: Well, my primary character is Senator Padme Amidala. I have also played other great characters, including Numa, the young Twilek in the Ryloth Arc, Karis the Nightsister, The Angel of Iego, and most recently a sweet droid, BNI 393, nick-named “Bunny”.

SWCP: Did you tried to instill a vocal tone the most similar to Natalie Portman´s for the role of Padme?

C.T: When I was cast in role, Dave Filoni , our director told me that I was playing my own Padme and I didn’t need to sound like anyone else so I don’t try to sound like Ms. Portman, I simply try to be true to the character of Padme. But I would say she and I naturally have a similar vocal tone, so that works out well!

SWCP: You were also the voice of several characters for Star Wars video games. Which differences do you note more in the way of working between this area and animation?

C.T: I love the games and have played some characters I adore, like Mission from Knights of the Old Republic and Vette in The Old Republic (so many twileks!) as well as Leia in The Force Unleashed 1 and 2. Working on The Clone Wars we record as a cast which is so much fun! So the video games are a little “lonelier” but the story lines are so in depth and amazing it would be impossible to do it all with your cast mates.

SWCP: Coming back to Padme Amidala: Which are the principal attributes of this character?


C.T: Padme is about integrity and standing up for good over evil. She is brave, strong and also, and this makes her different than many of the other characters in Star Wars, she is an ever hopeful optimist.

SWCP: What message would you like to leave for your fans?

C.T: I would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you! For your support and for sharing the love that I also have for Star Wars! And of course May the Force Be With You Always!
