SWCP: Podemos dizer que o Greg Elam foi o seu mentor na profissão de dupla?

K.D: Sim, podemos dizer que foi.

SWCP: Foi uma longa e dura etapa até se tornar uma dupla profissional? Quais foram as maiores dificuldades que encontrou?

K.D: A viagem foi longa e difícil, mas valeu a pena. As minhas maiores dificuldades decorreram quando era uma mãe solteira. Outra grande questão tem a ver com o de ter o cuidado para não dormir durante o meu caminho até ao topo da carreira de dupla. Acabei com várias relações com atores duplos"6 pack". Construí a minha carreira de dupla pelo poder de Deus, e o Deus do talento deu-me grandes treinadores como: Greg Elam e seus filhos (Kiante/Oushun), Gregg Dandridge e o Jalil `Jay´Lincham.

SWCP: De entre as várias dobragens que fez para atrizes célebres, qual foi a que lhe deu mais prazer em trabalhar?

K.D: Aquele que me deu mais gozo em ser o seu duplo foi necessariamente o da Jada Pinkett Smith quando trabalhámos em Matriz Reloaled. Outro grande momento foi quando o Jamie Foxx decidiu entrar no Táxi quando nós filmámos o filme nomeado para um Óscar 'Danos Colaterais' onde também participaram o Tom Cruise e a Jada. Ele dirigia o Táxi tão rápido quanto um Duplo. Apesar de ele dirigir ao gosto de qualquer Duplo, pensei para comigo, 'Uh... Oh... Ele vai desfazer este carro... E nós iremos estar no Noticiário das 11,00 horas!' Ele pensava que estava sozinho no carro. Não sabia que eu estava no assento traseiro, até ele ter terminado de conduzir, e eu disse depois no assento traseiro, 'Oh você um duplo... Agora?' Ele pulou porque ele ficou tão surpreendido! Estive no assento traseiro toda a viagem-disse eu. E rimo-nos imenso!

SWCP: Foi a primeira mulher afro-americana a ser aceite como membro da Academia da Televisão, Artes e Ciências. O que tem a dizer sobre isso?

K.D: Penso que tem um sabor doce -amargo. O doce porque as minhas performances levaram-me à Academia de Artes de Televisão e Ciências, e amargo porque por que não estiveram lá nenhumas duplas afro-americanas a ajudar, antes de mim.

SWCP: Fale-nos do seu mais recente livro `Filmes e Televisão: Mulher-Dupla!´

K.D: O livro fala sobre como eu cresci no Sul Central (Watts) (gueto) e agora estou no topo do ramo dos duplos depois de anos a trabalhar no duro! As minhas provas e atribulações para chegar onde estou, e como Deus me abençoou para ter sucesso.

SWCP: Gostaria de enviar alguma mensagem para as mulheres que queiram enveredar por uma carreira como a sua?

K.D: Se o vosso desejo é estar no jogo dos duplos como eu, sugiro às mulheres que treinem como um soldado do exército e treinem especificamente em lutas, juntamente com outras habilidades como: condução, quedas, exercícios físicos de ginásio, desportos e ângulos de câmara somente para denominar alguns. Então aí se tornarão...Duplas!Darem sempre para a frente... Não para trás! E temendo a Deus ajuda as pessoas a serem salvas!

SWCP: We can say that Greg Elam was your mentor in your stuntwoman´s career?

K.D: Yes you can say that.

SWCP: Was it a long and hard journey until you come into a stuntwoman? What your biggest difficulties were?

K.D: The journey was long and hard, but worth it. My biggest difficulties back then was being a single parent. Another big issue was making sure I didn't sleep my way to the top of the stunt game. I turned down a many of dates from a lot of 6 pack stuntmen. I got my stunt career by the power of God, and the talent God gave me, along with great trainers such as: Greg Elam and his sons (Kiante/Oushun), Gregg Dandridge and Jalil "Jay" Lynch.

SWCP: Among several doubling that you played for famous actresses, which was the one who gave you more enjoy to working?

K.D: The one that gave me the most enjoyment to stunt double has to be: Jada Pinkett Smith when we worked on: The Matrix Reloaded I also think a great moment was when Jamie Foxx decided to get into the Taxi when we were filming the Oscar Nominated film: "Collateral" also starring: Tom Cruise and Jada.

He was driving the Taxi all fast, like a Stuntman. Although he was driving all Stuntman like, I was cool, but thought, "Uh...Oh...He wrecks this car...we gon be on the 11:00 o'clock News!" He thought he was in the car alone. He didn't know I was even in the backseat, until he finished-up, and I said from the backseat, "Oh you a...stuntman now?" He jumped because he was so surprised I was in the backseat. We just laughed!

SWCP: You were the first African American stuntwoman to be accepted as a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. What do you think about that?

K.D: I think its bitter sweet. Sweet because my accomplishments got me into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and bitter because why haven't there been any African American stuntwomen help to do this, before me.

SWCP: Tell us about your current book "Film & Television: Stuntwoman!"

K.D: The book is about how I grew up in South Central (Watts) (ghetto) and now am at the top of my game in the stunt business after years of hustling hard! My trials and tribulations to get at the top of stunts, and how God blessed me to succeed.

SWCP: Would you like to send a message for the women who want to be a stuntwoman?

K.D: If your desire is to be in the stunt game like me. I suggest you woman-up like an army soldier and train specifically in fights, along with other skills such as: driving, high falls, gym work-outs and camera angles just to name a few. "Then get yo...stunt On!...Hustle forward...Not backward!" And becoming a God fearing Saved person helps!
