SWCP: Sendo seu pai, um músico e professor de música e a sua mãe uma dançarina e atriz, tiveram alguma influência sobre a sua carreira como atriz e modelo?
B.L: Acho que sim, porque foi nesse ambiente à minha volta que vivi e sonhei quando era criança, aprendi a tocar PIPA profissionalmente, o instrumento mais difícil está lá para aprender e também aprendi a tocar violino. A música foi uma grande coisa que me aconteceu enquanto eu crescia, eu deveria ser um músico. Mas mais que tudo isso, foi a minha avó que me influenciou, os meus pais estavam quase sempre longe de alguma forma durante a revolução cultural na China, eu estava com meus avós o tempo todo e gostava muito de estar com eles porque nutriam por mim um amor incondicional puro, o amor verdadeiro e uma enorme generosidade e abertura para a vida, que me deu a oportunidade de encontrar-me, de ser eu própria, de respirar meu próprio ar mágico e pensamentos, descobrindo quem eu realmente era por dentro, e para sentir e perceber: Por que estou aqui? E qual é o meu único presente dentro de mim que é tão mágico para que eu possa contribuir para este mundo? E o que está na minha alma para dar esse presente mágico e único, uma forma e oportunidade de brilhar neste mundo? A verdade sobre mim.
SWCP: Foi a primeira mulher Chinesa a ser a capa da edição americana da revista Playboy, bem como tendo mais 8 páginas
dessa revista dedicadas a si. Foi por causa disso, que teve problemas com a Lucasfilm?
B.L: Não sei qual foi a verdadeira razão, mas nunca me importei, porque isso é uma pura decisão que o realizador teve o direito de fazer. Mas para mim, senti muita sorte por ter trabalhado com o George Lucas, foi o realizador que fez um mundo de sonho se tornar realidade para as nossas vidas, eu amo "Star Wars" tão lindo... E eu tenho de dizer que trabalhei com ambos: George Lucas e Hugh Hefner, os dois maiores ícones da cultura neste mundo, foi um sonho que se tornou realidade para mim, não há nada que eu possa reclamar, mas sim sentir-me grata. Nunca imaginei, mas aprendi muito a trabalhar com eles, e só por isso, eu me senti muito, muito sortuda e feliz.
SWCP: `The Shining Arc´ foi seu papel mais famoso na indústria cinematográfica chinesa?
B.L: Acho que você quis dizer" Arc Light " , que foi um brilhante thriller mental, e que fez uma grande agitação na China naquele tempo. Mas não, muitos outros filmes também... Acho que o meu filme mais famoso foi "Dumplings".Foi feito em Hong Kong, porque esse papel "Mei Yi" que eu interpretei (o personagem mais místico na tela) me fez ganhar um prêmio de atuação nos Óscares asiáticos e também outros três grandes prémios em toda a Ásia. Eu gostaria de lhe recomendar a ver esse filme, vai chocá-lo e tirar-lhe o fôlego, porque você ficará totalmente surpreendido, que Bai Ling na tela é o que você tem, nunca teria sonhado e imaginado que ela poderia ser fantasticamente insana. E o novo filme que acabei de rodar chamado "Contrato Fatal", estou muito animada com este filme, vai ser outro que irá chocá-lo, é sobre o meu desempenho até ao limite, um
esgotamento em atuação mental. Ha!ha!Estou tão excitada só de pensar nisso!!! O filme está em pós-produção agora e prestes a ser terminado.
SWCP: É curioso que você foi mais premiada e reconhecida em filmes independentes do que propriamente em blockbusters. Isto é devido à qualidade dos papéis que você interpretou nesses filmes?
B.L: Sim, se eu entendi a sua pergunta, mas "Star wars", "Wild Wild West""Capitão Sky:O mundo do amanhã","Anna e o rei", e "Crank2" são filmes de sucesso. Acho que sou uma atriz ousada, posso fazer qualquer tipo de filmes, qualquer tipo de papéis, de 1 a 100 de gama, não vou por quaisquer regras ou maneiras como as formas normais da nossa maneira de pensar, vou além da limitação perigosa da mente e dos nossos pensamentos e imaginação, encontro o caminho oposto possível para meus personagens até ao limite, e penso como se devem comportar além do mesmo. Gosto de saber até ao momento em que tenho de respirar o meu personagem; é por isso que posso fazer todo o tipo de papéis em filmes de sucesso e filmes independentes e também em comédia, ação, drama psicológico, ficção científica, eu posso fazê-los todos de formas totalmente diferentes e trazê-los misteriosamente à vida, porque no meu mundo, a minha mente e a terra espiritual da minha alma, não existem limites. Sei que os papéis de grande sucesso para o público estão a caminho para me encontrar, porque eles precisam dos meus serviços.
SWCP: A máquina da cultura Pop de Hollywood, designou-a como uma vadia louca. Você acha que tem sido injustiçada e que só tem sido revelado o seu lado perverso como atriz e pessoa?
B.L: Sim, é verdade, é ao mesmo tempo triste e engraçado, a criança selvagem louca e engraçada com certeza que está em mim, mas isso é apenas uma parte muito pequena de mim, eu tenho 8 pequenos espíritos que estão dentro de mim, eu sou um fazedor da paz na minha casa .Mas sim a máquina de Hollywood alarga esse lado da maluca sexy e selvagem, porque isso dá origem a uma manchete imediata e cores brilhantes para a cultura pop jovem de Hollywood, realmente não me importo, mas quero que as pessoas---você, meu caro amigo, que realmente vejam e conheçam o complexo lado real, sensível e venerável da Bai Ling, porque eu em grande parte sou muito mais fascinante e sexy, posso lhe fazer rir, posso fazer você chorar, eu posso movê-lo com meu terno amor e ainda fazer você dançar na mesa e até mergulhar no oceano profundo.

B.L: I don't know what the real reason was, but never really cared, because that is a pure decision that director has the right to make. But for me I felt very lucky to have worked with George Lucas, he was the director made a dream world become a reality to our lives, I love " Star Wars " so beautiful… and I have to say both worked with George Lucas and Hugh Hefner, the 2 biggest culture icon in this world, was a dream become true for me, there is nothing I can complain, but to be grateful. SWCP: `The Shining Arc´ was your most celebrated role in the Chinese film industry?
B.L: I think you meant “Arc light “that was a brilliant mental thriller, made a big noise in China at that time. But no, many other films too… I would say my most celebrated film was " Dumplings " I made in Hong Kong, because that role " Mei Yi " I made and played ( the most mystical character on screen) earned me an Asian Oscar acting award and also additional another 3 major awards throughout Asia.
I would like to recommended you to see that film, it will shock you and take your breath away, because you will be totally surprised, that Bai Ling on screen is the one you have ever never would dreamed and imagined she could be, totally fantastically insane. And the new film I just finished called: “Fatal contract”, I am very excited about this film, it will be another one to shock you about my on the edge of mental breakdown performance. Ha!ha! I am so excited just to think of it!!! The film is in post production right now and almost done.
SWCP: It is curious that you have been most awarded and recognized in independent films than properly on blockbusters. This is due to the quality of the roles that you played in these films?

I know for curtain, those blockbuster big roles are on their way to find me, because they need my Service.
