SWCP: Como e quando se começou a interessar por Star Wars?

A.B: Eu era muito jovem quando foi lançado o primeiro filme de Star Wars (Uma nova esperança), então eu tive uma vida inteira para desfrutar Star Wars.Lembro-me bem de ter visto cada filme nos cinemas — e as longas filas de pessoas que compravam ingressos para o 'Império contra-ataca ‘e 'O regresso de Jedi' que davam a volta ao quarteirão! Quando era criança colecionava todas as figuras de ação da Kenner e muitos das naves de brinquedo. Lembro-me que a Millennium Falcon foi a primeira nave que recebi como presente de aniversário. Não havia internet naquela época, por isso as crianças colecionávamos cada bocadinho de informação de Star Wars ou itens do filme que pudéssemos encontrar. Eu colecionava brinquedos, figurinhas, livros de cinema, adesivos, latas e vestuário — tudo acerca de Star Wars que eu poderia encontrar! Esse interesse continuou certamente através das prequelas e The Clone Wars. Como todos os outros, eu estou muito entusiasmado acerca do Episódio VII e claro, de Star Wars Rebels! 

SWCP: Fale-nos um pouco sobre o guia visual, Star Wars Rebels.

A.B: Star Wars Rebels: O Guia Visual, é uma introdução à nova série animada de TV da Lucasfilm e da Disney XD. O guia apresenta todos os personagens principais (Rebeldes, Imperiais e outros), navios, armas e os locais que vamos ver na nova série. Ele também dá aos leitores um monte de detalhes e informações de planos de fundo que necessariamente não vão ver na série; como diagramas de veículos e sabres de luz, produção de informações e dicas sobre as suas conexões para outras partes do universo de Star Wars. Como todos os livros da DK, há muitas imagens fantásticas em todas as páginas. No final do livro há uma seção de bastidores com citações exclusivas dos produtores executivos, projetos de arte conceitual e outros insights sobre como a série foi feita. O livro está atualmente disponível nas lojas e através de vendedores.

SWCP: Espera que esta nova série animada venha a ter o mesmo sucesso que a sua antecessora, Star Wars: The Clone Wars? 

A.B: Tanto The Clone Wars como Star Wars Rebels,são incríveis. O Dave Filoni e a equipa da Lucasfilm Animation têm feito um trabalho fantástico e criaram uma parte essencial da saga Star Wars com ambas as séries. Tão popular como The Clone Wars foi, espero que Rebels venha a ter um sucesso ainda maior. Com os rebeldes de Star Wars,o Dave e a sua equipa têm todos esses anos anteriores de experiência. As coisas só podem ficar melhores, especialmente com tais contribuintes novos e surpreendentes adicionados à equipa, como são os casos dos produtores executivos Greg Weisman e Simon Kinberg. Da mesma forma, agora que a Lucasfilm é uma parceria com a Disney, eles têm ainda mais recursos para desenvolver a série no seu pleno potencial e levar a mesma para novas audiências em todo o mundo. 

SWCP: É também um contribuinte de conteúdos para o website oficial starwars.com.O que faz exatamente para esse website?

A.B: Comecei recentemente a escrever para o blog de StarWars.com. Estou muito animado e honrado por me juntar à equipa do blog, que também inclui a Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka),o Steve Sansweet (Rancho Obi-Wan) e o autor Jason Fry, entre outros ilustres colaboradores.O meu primeiro post introduziu Star Wars Rebels: O Guia Visual. O meu próximo post será o primeiro de uma nova série sobre os monstros de` The Clone Wars´. Houve um monte de criaturas incríveis, desenvolvidas para essa série que não tiveram muita atenção. Então esta é a oportunidade de brilhar uma luz sobre elas e explorar as suas origens e personalidades. Espero que venhamos a continuar com essa série, e vocês possam ver também postagens sobre outros temas editados por mim.

SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos fãs de Star Wars? 

A.B: Há um monte de coisas excitantes que estão a chegar ao universo de Star Wars, e `Rebeldes´ é definitivamente uma delas! Rebelde devolve-nos ao espírito original da aventura, encontrada em Star Wars: Episódio IV-Uma nova esperança, onde tudo pode acontecer. SWCP: When and how did start interest to Star Wars?

A.B: I was very young when the first Star Wars film (A New Hope) was released, so I’ve had a whole lifetime of Star Wars to enjoy. I vividly remember seeing each movie at the theaters—and the long lines of people buying tickets for ‘Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’ that went around the block! As a kid I collected all of the Kenner action figures and many of the toy ships. I remember that the Millennium Falcon was the first ship that a received as a birthday present. There was no internet back then of course, so as kids we collected every bit of Star Wars information or movie items that we could get our hands on. I collected toys, trading cards, movie books, stickers, tins, and clothing—anything Star Wars that I could find! That interest has certainly continued through the Prequels and The Clone Wars. Like everyone else I’m very excited about Episode VII and of course, Star Wars Rebels!

SWCP:  Tell us about your visual guide published by DK: Star Wars Rebels.

A.B: Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide is an introduction to the new animated TV series from Lucasfilm and Disney XD. The guide introduces all of the main characters (Rebels, Imperials and others), ships, weapons and the locations that we’ll see in the new show. It also gives readers a lot of details and background information that they won’t necessarily see in the show; like diagrams of vehicles and lightsabers, manufacturing information and hints about their connections to other parts of the Star Wars universe. Like all DK books, there are lots of fantastic images on every page. At the end of the book is a behind-the-scenes section with exclusive quotes from the executive producers, concept art designs and other insights into how the series was made. The book is available in stores and via online sellers now.

SWCP: Do you expect that this animated show (S.W Rebels) will have the same success than Clone Wars?

A.B: Both The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels are amazing. Dave Filoni and the team at Lucasfilm Animation have done a fantastic job and created an essential part of the Star Wars storyline with both series. As popular as The Clone Wars was however, I expect Rebels to be even bigger. With Star Wars Rebels, Dave and the team have all of those previous years of experience under their belt to build upon. Things can only get better, especially with such amazing new contributors added to the team, like Executive Producers Greg Weisman and Simon Kinberg. Likewise, now that Lucasfilm is teamed with Disney, they have even more resources to develop the show to its full potential, and bring the show to new audiences around the world.

SWCP:  You are also a contributor to the official Star Wars website.What kind of work do you do?

A.B: I recently began writing for the blog at StarWars.com. I’m very excited and honored to join the blog team, which also includes Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka), Steve Sansweet (Rancho Obi-Wan) and author Jason Fry, among other distinguished contributors. My first post introduced Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide. My next post was the first in a new series about the monster of The Clone Wars. There were a lot of incredible creatures developed for The Clone Wars that haven’t had much attention. So this is a chance to shine a light on them and explore their origins and personalities. Hopefully we will continue with that series, and you will see posts on other topics from me as well.

SWCP:  What message would you like to send for the fans of Star Wars?

There are a lot of exciting things coming up in the Star Wars universe, and Rebels is definitely one of them! Rebels returns us to the original spirit of adventure found in Star Wars: Episode IV, A New Hope, where anything can happen. Star Wars is for everyone, and it is a great time to be a Star Wars fan!
