Entrevistas SWCP: Christian Lagadec

Fiquem atentos!

ENGLISH VERSION:

Christian Lagadec is a French actor who played the role of Sebastien on the TV show `Grimm´.
SWCP: You were a recurring guest star on the NBC show `Grimm’. Could you tell us a bit more about your work on this series?

C.L: I played Sebastien, Captain Renard's spy in Europe. My character was spying on the royal family and gathering Intel on their latest plans. Throughout the episodes, Sebastian's work became increasingly dangerous yet essential. Unfortunately, the prince discovered that he was betraying him and supporting the Resistance.
SWCP: Why Sebastien only spoke in French with Captain Renard on the phone?
C.L: He actually spoke French and English; the captain speaks both languages (in addition to others). As to why, I imagine that the captain didn't want to be understood by the people in his workplace and the spy didn't want to be easily understood by those around him. There didn't seem to be any consistency as to when they spoke which language, though.

SWCP: Before being an actor, you were a literature major. Why did you decide to be an actor?
C.L: I came late to acting because I wasn't done reading, but I have always been interested in the stories told on the screen and the powerful voices of cinema and television. Film-making itself always appealed to me, but I didn't have a way to pursue it and wasn't in an environment that made it easy to pursue. Acting was a way for me to become involved in the process and to begin to live the narratives I had only read.
SWCP: You´re working again with the director of `Ambrosia ‘on a sci-fi project. Could you tell us a bit more about this project?

C.L: `Ambrosia ´has already been released as a short film. It was meant to be a spec project where the director could show what could be achieved with a small budget. He actually pushed the envelope. A year later, he received an award for best special effects at the International Pasadena Film Festival. Right now, I am helping director Eric Waetjen secure funding for an ambitious feature still under wraps. It will be a full-length sci-fi film we are all excited about.
SWCP: You have special skills in sword fight and archery. Would you like to play a role with these special skills, like Robin Hood, for example?
C.L: Who wouldn't love to be in a period piece? Give me a sword and a bow, and let the adventure begin!

SWCP: What message would you like to send for your fans?
C.L: You guys are the show's key ingredient and without you, Friday evenings would be quite lonely. Thank you for watching Grimm! The writers have a lot in store for you. Stay tuned!
