Stephen Costantino é um ator,músico e produtor Americano que interpretou um dos Guardas Gamorreanos do Jabba.O seu personagemmorre nas mãos de Luke Skywalker a bordo de uma barca em Star Wars: Episódio VI O Retgresso de Jedi. Ele também trabalhou em outros projectos tais como Starlight,Walking After Midnight e My Saga.
SWCP: Conte-nos sobre o seu trabalho em Star Wars.
S.C: Quando o Billy Dee estava a preparar o seu personagem Lando Calrissian para o filme "O Regresso de Jedi", ele pediu ao Corey para ser o seu substituto quando a companhia de cinema foi ao local em Yuma, AZ. Fui convidado para vir junto para que o Corey e eu pudéssemos continuar a tocar e a escrever música. Em pouco tempo, fui recrutado para um papel no filme e interpretei um Guarda Gamorreano ao serviço do Jabba, lutando contra o Luke Skywalker em defesa do seu mestre desprezível e o resto é história. Foi uma experiência incrível e nunca pensei que estaria na estrada nos últimos 10 anos conhecendo fãs e dando autógrafos! Estou muito grato por fazer parte disso!
SWCP: Além de obviamente,o Gamorrean Guard ser um dos seus personagens favoritos de Star Wars,tem mais algum personagem que gostaria de destacar?
S.C: Eu sempre amei o Yoda e já fiz uma convenção com o Nick Maley um dos criadores! Foi ótimo ver o Yoda em ação!
SWCP: Você é um bom amigo do seu colega de elenco Corey Dee Williams, e os dois formaram uma banda juntos. Por favor, conte-nos um pouco mais sobre a vossa banda.
S.C: Logo depois de me mudar para a Califórnia em 1978, comecei a estudar artes marciais em Los Angeles com o Hugh Van Patten que me apresentou a outro músico numa das suas aulas, Corey Dee Williams, filho do ator e pintor Billy Dee Williams. Nós nos demos bem imediatamente e começamos uma banda chamada Incognito.Mais tarde,a banda reencarnaria como Atmosphere. Sempre tocamos tão bem juntos e ainda o fazemos até hoje!
SWCP: Recentemente, você fundou um estúdio de gravação chamado Gamorrean Sound.No que consiste essa empresa?
S.C: Gamorrean Sound é um estúdio completo de gravação, mixagem e masterização que abri para fazer a minha música e trabalhar com outros artistas e compositores para criar e gravar!
SWCP: Tem participado em diversas convenções como a San Diego Comic Con,por exemplo.Do que gostas mais e o que detestas nesses eventos?
S.C: Adoro os fãs e fazer eventos com a Legião 501º e o cosplay abrangendo gerações! Não gosto quando os eventos ficam muito superlotados e é um caos.
SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos fãs de Star Wars?
S.C: Que estou animado por estar de volta à estrada e fazer espetáculos novamente e conhecer novas pessoas e fãs ao longo do caminho! Eu adoraria fazer um espetáculo em Portugal algum dia!

Stephen Costantino is an American actor,musician and producer who portrayed one of Jabba's Gamorrean Guards. His character meets his demise at the hands of Luke Skywalker aboard a barge in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.He also worked on other projects such as Starlight,Walking After Midnight and My Saga.
SWCP: Tell us about your work on Star Wars.
S.C: When Billy Dee was readying his character Lando Calrissian for movie “Return of the Jedi,” he asked Corey to be his stand-in when the film company went on location in Yuma, AZ. I was invited to come along so that Corey and I could continue to play and write music. Before long, I was recruited for a part in the film and played the Gamorrean Guard in service to Jabba the Hut fighting Luke Skywalker in defense of his despicable master and the rest is history. It was an incredible experience and I never thought I would be on the road the past 10 years meeting fans and signing autographs! I’m so grateful to be part of it!
SWCP: Besides obviously, Gamorrean Guard is one of your favorite Star Wars characters, do you have any more characters you'd like to highlight?
S.C: I always loved Yoda and just did a show with Nick Maley one of the creators! It was great to see Yoda in action!
SWCP: You are good friends with fellow cast mate Corey Dee Williams, and the two formed a band together.Please,tell us a bit more about your band.
S.C: Soon after moving to California in 1978, I began studying martial arts in Los Angeles with Hugh Van Patten who introduced me to another musician in one of his classes, Corey Dee Williams, son of the actor and painter Billy Dee Williams. We hit it off immediately and started a band called Incognito.Later it would reincarnate as Atmosphere. We always played so well together and still do to this day!
SWCP: Recently, you started a label and recording studio called Gamorrean Sound.What does this company consist of?
S.C: Gamorrean Sound is a full recording, mixing and mastering studio that I opened for me to make my music and work with other artists and songwriters to create and record!
SWCP: You've been participating in a number of conventions like San Diego Comic Con, for example. What do you like the most and what do you hate about these events?
S.C: I love the fans and doing events with the 501st and the cosplay spanning generations! I don’t like when they get too overcrowded and it’s mayhem!
SWCP: What message would you like to send to Star Wars fans?
S.C: That I’m excited to be back on the road and doing shows again and meeting new people and fans along the way! I would love to do a show in Portugal sometime!
