Entrevistas SWCP: Ardeshir Radpour

 

Ardeshir Radpour nasceu em Teerão, Irão, em novembro de 1969 e mudou-se para os Estados Unidos em 1977. Ele é um profissional da indústria do entretenimento com uma extensa formação em cinema e televisão.Em 2008, Radpour fez uma transição em tempo integral para a indústria do entretenimento.Desde essa transição, ele trabalhou como duplo e ator numa ampla variedade de projetos de grandes comerciais na net, séries de televisão e longas-metragens: Batman vs Superman, as sequências de Avatar, Westworld, Seal Team, entre outros. Em O livro de Boba Fett: Capítulo V, Radpour desempenhou o papel de Kaba Baiz e em Obi-Wan Kenobi foi um Stormtrooper checkpoint e um Clone Trooper.

SWCP: Fale-nos um pouco sobre o seu trabalho nas séries de Star Wars.Curiosamente,foi morto por lasers em dois papéis que desempenhou (Kaba Baiz e Checkpoint Stormtrooper ). 

A.R:  Como um fã de Star Wars por toda a vida e como uma pessoa que viu todos os filmes de Star Wars nos cinemas quando eles saíram, é um pensamento inacreditável que eu tive a sorte de me tornar parte desse universo e ter um enorme sonho de infância se tornando realidade.  Ainda não acredito.É uma honra,sem palavras para a descrever. Ainda estou descrente que tive a sorte de experimentar quase todos eles.O meu primeiro dia no set foi com um dos meus favoritos, Boba Fett.Sério, ainda não acredito!Então quando foi para confrontar o Mandalorian, uau!Finalmente para interpretar um Clone Trooper que nunca vimos em live action e eu posso não só ser um Clone de ação ao vivo, mas também cometer a ordem 66.Uau! No meu primeiro dia em Obi Wan Kenobi, tive a cena no posto de controle a quatro de maio e mandei parar o Ewane para o interrogar.Também fui um Stormtrooper durante todo o episódio em oportunidades inacreditáveis e isso é incrível.É uma honra e um privilégio. 

SWCP: Já era fã de Star Wars antes de participar nesta série? Tem algum personagem favorito? 

A.R: Um enorme fã de Star Wars desde que estrearam os filmes. Eu provavelmente vi Star Wars centenas de vezes e nunca me canso.As trilogias originais são as minhas favoritas, mas Rogue One também se inclui. Quanto aos personagens, isso é impossível de dizer.São tantos.Darth Vader e Darth Maul e os Stormtroopers ,Obi Wan e Boba Fett assim por diante.

SWCP: É também um actor/duplo.Durante a sua vasta carreira nesta área,já alguma vez sofreu um grave acidente? 

A.R: Eu sou um duplo e como tal,já tive alguns ferimentos ligeiros, mas felizmente nada de grave.

SWCP: Em que projetos está atualmente a trabalhar? 

A.R: Não posso dizer nada sobre no que estou atualmente a trabalhar.É a natureza do negócio. Mas acabei de terminar uma pequena seção no novo filme da Barbie com o Ryan Gosling e também Avatar 2 e 3 que estão quase a sair.  

SWCP: É membro honorário de vários grupos da Legião 501.Como surgiram os convites e o que já tem feito em prol destes grupos? 

A.R:  Bem, eu não sou um membro honorário da 501ª legião eu sou na verdade um membro da 501ª legião.Já era um membro antes de ter a sorte de estar na série Star Wars. A 501ª Legião provavelmente é um dos melhores grupos de pessoas com quem já estive envolvido. 

SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos fãs de Star Wars? 

A.R: A minha mensagem para todos os fãs de Star Wars é... Continuem gostando dos filmes. Continuem se divertindo com eles, continuem trazendo alegria, visão e emoção não só para vocês, curtindo-a, mas com os outros, porque é disso que se trata a vida.O universo de Star Wars é o nosso universo com muitas lições a serem aprendidas, mas também muito prazer.

Ardeshir Radpour was born in Tehran Iran in November of 1969 and moved to the United States in 1977. He is an entertainment industry professional with an extensive background in film and television.In 2008,Radpour made a full time transition into the entertainment industry. Since this transition, he has worked as a stuntman and actor on a broad variety of projects from major network commercials, television series and feature films ranging from: Batman vs Superman, the Avatar Sequels, Westworld, Seal Team,among others.In The book of Boba Fett: Chapter 5, he played the role of Kaba Baiz and in Obi-Wan Kenobi he was a Checkpoint Stormtrooper and a Clone Trooper.

SWCP:  Tell us a little about your work in the live-action Series of Star Wars.Interestingly,you were killed by lasers in two roles (Kaba Baiz and Checkpoint Stormtrooper ). 

A.R: As a life long Star Wars fan and as a person who saw all of the Star Wars movies in the theaters when they came out, it is a pretty unbelievable thought that I have been fortunate enough to become a part of that universe and to have a massive childhood dream come true.  I still can’t believe it.  It is an honor beyond words. My first day on set was with me of my favorites, Boba Fett.  Seriously, I’m still in disbelief.  Then to confront the Mandalorian, wow.  Finally to play a clone trooper that we have never seen live action and I get to not only be a live action clone but commit order 66.Wow!My first day on Obi Wan Kenobi I had the scene at the checkpoint on May the Fourth and I get to stop and interrogate Ewan.  Just wow.Also I was stormtroopers throughout the entire episode in very very unbelievable opportunities and that just is unbelievable.  

SWCP: Were you a Star Wars fan before you participated in these shows? Do you have any favorite characters? 

A.R: Massive massive massive Star Wars fan since they premiered.I have probably seen Star Wars a few hundred times and it never gets old.  The original trilogies are my favorite but Rogue One is right there with them. As far as character, that is impossible to say.  There are just so many.  Darth Vader and Darth Maul and the stormtroopers and Obi Wan and Boba Fett so on and so on. I am still in disbelief that I was fortunate to experience almost all of them. What´s an honor and privilege. 

SWCP: You're also a stunt actor. During your vast career in this area,have you ever suffered a serious accident? 

A.R: I am a stunt performer and I have had some minor injuries but thankfully nothing seriously .

SWCP: What projects are you currently working on? 

A.R: I can’t really say anything rhst I am currently working on.It’s just the nature of the business.But I just finished a small little section in rhe new Barbie movie with Ryan Gosling and also Avatar 2 and 3 that are coming out.  

SWCP: You are an honorary member of various groups of the 501 st Legion.How did the invitations come about and what have you already done for these groups?  

A.R: Well, I’m not an honorary member of the 501st legion I’m actually a member of the 501st legion.I was a member by coincidence before I was lucky enough to be in the Star Wars series.The 501st legion is probably hands down one of the best  group of people I have ever been involved with.  

SWCP: What message would you like to send to Star Wars fans? 

A.R: My message to all Star Wars fans is…. Keep enjoying the movies.Keep having fun with them, keep bringing joy and vision and excitement not only to yourselves by enjoying it but with others because that is what life is about.   The Star Wars universe is our universe with a lot of lessons to be learned but as well as s lot of enjoyment to be had.
