Entrevistas SWCP: Richard Stride

 

O britânico Richard Stride, é um ator versátil que apareceu em blockbusters como Gladiador e Primeiro Cavaleiro antes de passar para Star Wars, quando trabalhou em Ataque dos Clones e A Vingança dos Sith. É também um diretor de lutas qualificado e tem coreografado muitas lutas para teatro e filmes.Ele foi o duplo (para Ewan McGregor)e interpretou o Poggle the Lesser e vários Clone Troopers. 

SWCP: Fale-nos um pouco sobre o seu trabalho em Star Wars. 

R.S: Trabalhei como duplo do Obi Wan Double e interpretei o Poggle e vários outros personagens.

SWCP: Quais foram os seus momentos mais icónicos que sentiu quando trabalhou nesta frânquia? 

R.S: O primeiro dia em que me  encontrei com o Antony Daniels. Ele mostrou-me o su traje de C3PO e fez a voz para mim. Foi mágico.

SWCP: Você teve a ideia de comprar um antigo teatro georgiano e restaurá-lo e produzir mais de 70% das suas produções.Qual foi a razão principal para o levar a esse investimento? 

R.S: Loucura para ser honesto.Adoro colocar e criar trabalho, então parecia uma ideia de empreendimento.

SWCP: Em 2000,interpretou o papel de um soldado romano.Como foi essa experiência? 

R.S: Em Gladiador, foi extremamente difícil para ser honesto. Estava muito frio,eu estava todo molhado e a lama estava até ao joelho. Certamente parecia um inferno na terra.

SWCP: Em que projetos está atualmente a trabalhar? 

R.S:  Acabei de fazer uma série de TV para a Netflix que será lançada em outono.

SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos fãs de Star Wars? 

R.S: Que a Força esteja convosco. Acreditem nos vossos sonhos e nunca desistam deles. E lembrem-se da mensagem de Star Wars, Esperança, amizade, família e amor.

The  British Richard Stride, is a versatile actor who appeared in blockbusters like Gladiator and First Knight before moving onto Star Wars when he worked on Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

is also a qualified fight director and has choreograph many fights for theatre and films.He was a double (for Ewan McGregor),Poggle the Lesser,various Clone Troopers. 

SWCP:  Tell us a little bit about your work on Star Wars.

R.S: I worked as Obi Wan Double and Poggle and various other characters.

SWCP: What were your most iconic moments that you felt when you worked on this franchise? 

R.S:  The first day meeting Antony Daniels. He showed me his costume and did the voice for me. That was magic.

SWCP: You had the idea of buying an old Georgian Theatre and restoring it and producing over 70% of its productions.What was the main reason for leading you to this investment?

R.S: Crazyness to be honest. I love putting on and creating work so it seemed an idea venture.

SWCP: In 2000, you played the role of a Roman soldier. What was that experience like?  

R.S:  In Gladiator, it was extremely hard to be honest. It was very cold, wet and the mud was knee deep. It certainly felt like hell on earth so no acting required.

SWCP: What projects are you currently working on?  

R.S:  Just done a TV series for Netflix which will be out in the Autumn.

SWCP: What message would you like to send to Star Wars fans? 

R.S: May the Force be with you. Believe in your dreams and never give up on them. And remember the message of Star Wars, Hope, friendship, family and love.
