Entrevistas SWCP: Patrick Ginter

Patrick Ginter é um ator inglês que interpretou os papéis do Comandante Imperial Desanne e de um Stormtrooper em Star Wars: O Império contra ataca. Também trabalhou como hand model para o ator Mark Hamill.

SWCP: Fale-nos um pouco acerca do seu trabalho em Star Wars.

P.G:  Um amigo ligou-me da Bermans e Nathan's Camden Town London sendo o gerente de fantasias ( Bob ) e perguntou se eu poderia ser um modelo ao vivo para a montagem de fantasias durante toda a semana para o Sr. George Lucas que tinha a ver com os próximos filmes de Star Wars.Dirigi-me á Bermans e Nathan e experimentei todos os trajes estranhos de todos os tipos com a ajuda do Sr. George Lucas e do Sr. John Mollo.Alguns dos trajes nunca tinham sido experimentados antes em qualquer filme e muitas fotos foram tiradas para os Senhores George Lucas e John Mollo e ambos escolheram os trajes de Star Wars necessários para os próximos filmes, em seguida, um pouco mais tarde houve um jantar nos Estúdios Elstree.Fiquei sozinho por um tempo até que a Georgina Hale e o Mark Hamill entrarem no restaurante e sentaram-se atrás de mim e depois jantamos todos e nos tornamos muito bons amigos.Cerca de um mês depois,fui aos  os Estúdios Elstree muito cedo para trabalhar em Star Wars vestido como um Stormtrooper e algum tempo mais tarde,o número dois perguntou-ne se eu poderia ajudar a interpretar a cena do Luke com a mão mecânica já que o Mark Hamill estava muito ocupado nos EUA fazendo outros eventos.

SWCP: Sabemos que era difícil atuar com alguns trajes e capacetes,como no caso dos Stormtroopers.Quais foram as maiores dificuldades que sentiu ao usar esse traje?

P.G: O traje do Stormtrooper era muito doloroso na parte de trás dos joelhos,ao correr ao redor do estúdio durante as filmagens de Star Wars e às vezes os capacetes eram um pouco apertados em moldagem e difíceis de sair da cabeça, mas foi muito divertido para todos os atores no set.

SWCP: Devido á pandemia do Covid 19,os eventos têm sido todos cancelados.Tem algum compromisso para alguns eventos num futuro próximo?

P.G: Os meus planos futuros são um evento em Amsterdão na cidade de Utrecht de 13 a 15 de novembro de 2020. Também há uma entrevista planeada na rádio para a NBC/Universal / Combat Radio com o Sr. Ethan Dettenmaier com data ainda por definir, também a Maddog 2020 e  extras na Universal quando as minhas agências me voltarem a oferecer trabalho em filmes assim que o bloqueio da pandemia acabar.

SWCP:  Teve treinamento de exército ao longo de anos em  Inglaterra e no exterior. Acha que estas especialidades
militares o ajudaram de alguma forma na sua performance como ator?

P.G: O meu treino no exército britânico durante 12 anos em tempo integral e em part time,ajudou-me a moldar como ator em ` O Império Contra-Ataca´ no papel do Comandante Desanne escolhido pelo realizador,o Sr. Irvin Kershner e muitas outras vezes noutros papéis desempenhados em Dr Who,Minder e muitos papéis seguintes numa vida muito ocupada por esta atividade.

SWCP: Durante a sua carreira como ator,recorda-se de alguma situação engraçada ou fora do vulgar que tenha ocorrido durante as filmagens?

P.G: Alguns dos outros atores e figurantes tiveram dificuldades com o traje do Stormtrooper na época e com os trajes das espécies alienígenas já não tinham uma visão nítida e também porque os trajes eram apertados e a reação deles  nos camarins às vezes era muito engraçada com  muitas formas de vida trabalhando nos filmes de Star Wars.

SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos fãs de Star Wars?

P.G: A minha mensagem para os fãs de Star Wars é que me sinto tão privilegiado por me terem sido dado os papéis e a real bondade para comigo como um ator-extra de filmes e tudo o que eu posso dizer é muito obrigado por toda a vossa grandeza e amizade sobre esses eventos desde os filmes de Star Wars á Comic-con / London Film Fair e á equipa da Elstree Studio que foram todos muito gentis e que tornaram tudo isso possível a tempo para os fãs e eu como Patrick Ginter,um ator em Star Wars possamos encher os vossos corações de alegria e prazer em qualquer exibição no futuro e que  a Força esteja com todos vós e obrigado.

Patrick Ginter is an English actor who played an Imperial Commander (Desanne) and a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: Episode V- the Empire Strikes Back. He also worked as a hand model for Mark Hamill.

SWCP: Tell us a little bit about your work in Star Wars.

P.G: My dear friend called me from ,Bermans and Nathan's Camden Town London being the costume manager ( Bob ) and asked me if myself could be a live model for costume fitting all week for , Mr George Lucas new coming Star Wars films so along myself want to , Bermans and Nathan's and tried on all odd costumes of every kind for, Mr. George Lucas and helping me was, Mr John Mollo some of the costumes had never been tried before in time on any films and many photos were taken for Mr. George Lucas and for , Mr John Mollo and together they both picked the needed Star Wars costumes for the coming Star Wars films then a little time later had a dinner at, Elstree studio's going upstairs to the restaurant and was alone for a time until, Georgina Hale and Mark Hamill came into the restaurant and came and sitting down beside we had dinner and became very good friends all together eating in the restaurant and because the dinner was so nice in there kindness felt like paying for all the meals but kept my peace at that time and a few month want by and again want to , Elstree studios very early in the morning to work on, Star Wars dressed as a Stormtrooper and sometime later on in the day the number 2 asked me if myself could play a machine hand for, Mark Hamill and myself was filmed being a machine hand for the , Star Wars film , As , Mr Mark Hamill was very busy in the USA doing other events.

SWCP: We know that it was difficult to act with some costumes and helmets, as in the case of Stormtroopers.What were the biggest difficulties you felt when wearing this costume? 

P.G: The Stormtrooper costume where very painful at the back of the knees when running around the studio filming shot's for, Star Wars and sometimes the helmets were a little tight in molding and hard to get off the head but a lot of fun was had by all the actor's on the film set making all the, Star Wars film's

SWCP: Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the events have all been cancelled. Do you have any appointments for some events in the near future? 

P.G: My future plans are an event in, Amsterdam in the city of, Utrecht from, Xogold 13.de, On the 15 November 2020. Also a planned talk on radio for, NBC/Universal / Combat radio for, Mr Ethan Dettenmaier date to be set, also Maddog 2020 and Universal Extras as my agencies could offer film work as soon as the lockdown is over.

SWCP: You've had army training for years in England and abroad. Do you think these military specialties helped you in any way, in your performance as an actor?

P.G: My training in the British army for 12 years full time and part time did help me shape myself as a actor on, The Empire Strikes Back and the walking role of, Commander Desanne picked by the, Director, Mr Irvin Kershner and many other time in other played roles Dr Who Minder and many following acting roles from the film agent in a very busy life.

SWCP: During your acting career, do you remember any funny or unusual situations that occurred during filming?

P.G: Some of the other actors and extras had hardships with the Stormtrooper costume's at time and species costume's as could not see in vision or was two tight in molding in costume's and the very funny wording in the dressing rooms at times was very funny all coming from many forms of life working on the Star Wars films.

SWCP: What message would you like to send to Star Wars fans? 

P.G: My message to, Star Wars fans is myself feel so privileged to have been given the roles and there real kindness towards me as a actor film extra and all myself can say is thank you so very much for all your greatness and friendship on these events from the, Star Wars films and Comic-con / London Film Fair / Elstree Studio's and the very kind staff that made all this possible in time for the fans and me as, Patrick Ginter an actor in, Star Wars may your hearts be filled with joy and enjoyment at any coming showing of future , Star Wars film's may the force be with you all and thank you.
