Entrevistas SWCP: Ross O'Hennessy

 

Ross O'Hennessy é um ator Galês que trabalhou em vários filmes e séries de televisão, tais como, Game of Thrones, Da Vinci's Demons, The Musketeers, Mission Impossible: Fallout, The Bastard Executioner, etc.

SWCP: Participou na série de ficção científica Torchwood no papel do Sgto. Johnson.É fã desta temática?Gosta de Star Wars? 

R.O: Wow!Quem não gosta de Star Wars! Eu cresci com as produções originais através dos anos 1970 e 1980, é difícil não ser influenciado pelo género. Eu acho que é realmente inteligente a maneira como eles estão misturando as linhas de história "mais antigas" em novos spin-offs como o Mandelorian e o Obi-Wan, isso é pura genialidade.Mantém os velhos peidos como nós felizes e traz novos fãs mais jovens para as histórias clássicas.

SWCP: Porque  substituiu Edward Dogliani como o Senhor dos Ossos na quinta temporada da série da HBO,Game of Thrones? 

R.O: Não faço ideia de porque o Edward não era mais capaz de interpretar o 'Rattleshirt'. Às vezes, como atores, muitas vezes estamos longe de outros projetos quando as filmagens acontecem... talvez ele não estivesse disponível.

SWCP: Conte-nos sobre a campanha de caridade que você participou para salvar o seu teatro local. 

R.O: O meu teatro local precisava de um novo teto, foi o primeiro lugar que em que atuei e foi o nascimento da minha carreira! Então, peguei o máximo de itens de memorabilia de Game of Thrones que pude e fizemos uma angariação de fundos.Foi muito bem recebida e eles arrecadaram dinheiro suficiente para poder consertar o teatro. Não foi tudo por minha conta, eu apenas desempenhei um pequeno papel no projeto.

SWCP: A sua primeira participação num Comic Con foi em Novembro de 2015.O que acha deste tipo de eventos e da respetiva interação dos atores com os fãs? 

R.O: Comic Cons e eventos baseados em fãs são o núcleo do nosso negócio, sem pessoas para assistir aos shows... quem somos nós para agir neles. Sempre tive tempo com qualquer um que tenha demonstrado interesse no que faço. Além disso, isso me dá uma boa chance para o meu nerd interior ser solto. Eu era um grande fã de GOT mesmo antes de começar a trabalhar para eles.

SWCP: Em que projetos está atualmente a trabalhar?

R.O: Estou prestes a participar num filme com a Joan Collins, Matt Goss, Craig Fairbrass e Nigel Havers chamado The Stork Club. É um drama corajoso sobre um clube na década de 1970. SWCP: Que mensagem gostaria de enviar aos seus fãs? 

R.O: Continuem aproveitando a vida e persigam os vossos sonhos. A vida pode parecer uma grande luta difícil, então tirem alguns minutos para aproveitar o que vocês  alcançaram... viver para hoje, mas ter ambição para o amanhã.

SWCP: You participated in the science fiction series Torchwood in the role of Sgt. Johnson. Are you a fan of this theme? Do you like Star Wars?

R.O: Wow, who doesn't like Star Wars! I grew up with the original productions through the 1970s and 1980s, it's hard to not be influenced by the genre. I think it is really clever the way the are blending the 'older' story lines into new spin off like the Mandelorian and the Obi-Wan, this is sheer genius. it keeps the old farts like us happy and brings new younger fans into the classic storylines.

SWCP: Why did you replace Edward Dogliani as Lord of Bones in season five of the HBO series Game of Thrones?

R.O: I have no idea why Edward no longer was able to play 'Rattleshirt.' Sometimes as actors we are often away with other projects when filming happens... maybe he was unavailable.

 

SWCP: Tell us about the charity campaign you participated in to save your local theater.

R.O: My local theatre needed a new roof, it was the first place that I ever acted and was the birth of my career! So, I grabbed as many Game of Thrones memorabilia items as I could and we did a fundraiser. It was very well attended and they raised enough money to be able to fix the theatre up. It was not all down to me; I just played a small part in the project. 

SWCP: Your first appearance at Comic Con was in November 2015.What do you think of these kinds of events and the actors' interaction with fans?

R.O: Comic Cons and Fan based events are the very core of our business, without people to watch the shows...who are we to act in them. I have always taken time with anyone who has shown an interest in what I do. Plus, it gives me a good chance for my inner geek to be let loose. I was a huge fan of GOT even before I started working for them.

 SWCP: What projects are you currently working on? 

R.O: I am just about to shoot a film with Joan Collins, Matt Goss, Craig Fairbrass, Nigel Havers called THE STORK CLUB. It is a gritty drama about a club in the 1970s. Very powerful film with a very powerful script. Here is a link to the imdb  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt19223384/ 

SWCP: What message would you like to send to your fans? 

RO: Keep enjoying life and chase your dreams. Life can seem a big uphill struggle, so take a few minutes out to enjoy what you have and what you have achieved...live for today but have ambition for tomorrow.
