Ontem foi posto à venda o número de Maio da revista PREMIÈRE, especializada em cinema e a primeira publicação do meio escrito onde se fala do 1º evento público oficial co-organizado pelo SWCC-PT.

A Wizards of the Coast divulgou ontem a 4ª antevisão de mais duas minis da expansão Alliance & Empire: Imperial Governor Tarkin (a segunda mini deste personagem, depois de Grand Moff Tarkin editada em Setembro de 2004 na primeira expansão deste jogo, Rebel Storm) e Wookiee Freedom Fighter.

Hoje celebra-se aquele que na "liturgia" de todos os aficionados STAR WARS é considerado como o "seu" dia mundial: o 4º de Maio. Jogando com a fonética das palavras inglesas Force (Força) e Fourth (quarto) e escolhendo o mês em que o primeiro filme se estreou — a 25 de Maio 1977 — haveria porventura melhor ocasião para mais este pretexto para se recordar a saga? Obviamente que não!

A revista Empire, bem conhecida de todos os cinéfilos, faz 18 anos. Em jeito de comemoração, disponibilizou no seu site uma galeria com todas as capas da Empire, convidando os estimados leitores a votar na sua capa favorita. Quanto a nós, nem era preciso perguntar... a capa do número 192 da Empire, de Maio de 2005, é um verdadeiro item de coleccionador.Infelizmente, e como a Empire é uma publicação britânica, no momento em que escrevo estas linhas há um certo agente secreto ao serviço de Sua Majestade que, por míseros quatro votos, impede o Lorde Negro do Sith de atingir o merecido primeiro lugar. Por isso... toca a votar!

STAR WARS Force-Cast #59; Microcast #26: A Galaxy of Music, Vol. 8

Pela primeira vez o SWCC-PT aperesenta um post bilingue. Perceberão porquê...

Jimmy Mac returns with his vol. 8 of the always interesting A Galaxy of Music Force-cast microcasts. This one is holds a very special flavour to us, the SWCC-PT and the STAR WARS community in Portugal at large.

The first (of the many) great songs of this show is performed by "Weird" Al Yankovic, with a parody of the well known 1971 American Pie song. "Weird" Al dubbed it "The Saga Begins" and we include its full lyrics so you can duly appreciate the twist to the original song.

Also included on this microcast is an interview given to Jimmy by Chinese actress Bai Ling, where she shares her thoughts on the saga's movies. Bai Ling starred in the Episode III, Revenge of the Sith movie (playing the part of Senator Bana Breemu), with appearances also on but also on the first episode of the third season of the currently running LOST TV-series show and also cast on The Crow, Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow movies and a cover-girl on the May 2005 edition of the Playboy magazine.

To wrap this up, we can only thank Jimmy Mac, The Force.Net and Rebelscum.com for putting up such a great "radio" show, and also for kindly accept my suggestion to play one of several parody songs performed by one of the funniest STAR WARS geeks on the globe, "Weird" Al Yankovic.

Jimmy Mac regressa com o seu vol. 8 dos sempre interessantes Force-cast microcasts, A Galaxy Of Music. Este traz-nos um sabor muito especial, ao SWCC-PT e à comunidade STAR WARS em Portugal, em geral.

A primeira das canções neste programa é interpretada pelo "Weird" Al Yankovic, numa paródia à bem conhecida canção American Pie de 1971. "Weird" Al chamou-lhe "The Saga Begins" e aqui incluímos as letras para que se possa devidamente apreciar a transformação da canção original.

Igualmente incluída neste microcast está uma entrevista dada ao Jimmy pela actriz Chinesa Bai Ling do Episódio III, A Vingança dos Sith (no papel da Senadora Baana Bremu) tendo participado também no primeiro episódio da terceira temporada da actual série televisiva LOST e nos filmes The Crow, Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow e também, como cover-girl na edição de Maio de 2005 da revista Playboy.
